Marley Shelton, who was born on April 12, 1974 in Los Angeles, grew up in a family with an entertainment background. Marley’s mom Carol was a former singer, while her dad was a producer and director. Although it would’ve been easy to start acting at an early age, it wasn’t until after high school did Marley discovered her passion for acting. Her career began in the early 1990s, appearing on several made-for-TV films and TV shows, including “The Family Man,” “Family Matters,” “Camp Wilder” and “Bodies of Evidence.”

In 1991, Marley made her film debut in the movie “Grand Canyon,” followed by a femme fatale role in the movie “The Sandlot in 1993. Shelton’s career was given a major boost when Oliver Stone cast her in the biopic “Nixon,” which gave way to other supporting roles in films such as “Warrior of Virtue,” “Trojan War,” Pleasantville,” “Lured Innocence,” “Never Been Kissed,” and “The Bachelor.”

Marley Shelton earned a starring role in the 2001 film “Sugar & Spice.” That same year, she played alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in “Bubble Boy” and Denise Richards in “Valentine.” She also married producer Beau Flynn in July 2001. From 2000 to 2005, Marley continued to appear as supporting characters in films, such as “Grand Theft Parsons,” “Dallas 362,” “Uptown Girls,” and “The Old Man and the Studio,” but received a small yet prominent role in the 2005 Robert Rodriguez box office hit “Sin City.”

In 2007, Rodriguez hired Marley Shelton as Dr. Dakota Block in his Quentin Tarantino collaboration film entitled “Grindhouse,” wherein she played the same character in both of the film’s segments. In 2008, Marley appeared in the films “W” and “Our Lady of Victory.” She also starred in the new CBS series “Eleventh Hour.” In 2009, Shelton appeared in the film “A Perfect Getaway” and in the same year also gave birth to her first child.
